National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Certification
The Fairfax County Department of Public Safety Communications (DPSC) is now a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) 9-1-1 Call Center Partner, demonstrating their commitment to protecting and ensuring the safety of all children in Fairfax County. Through both administrative and operational training, and the adoption of best practices in policies and procedures pertaining to the response of missing and exploited children, DPSC is adequately prepared to respond to all calls reporting a missing, abducted, or exploited child. By completing the partner program with NCMEC, DPSC has created a child-centered 9-1-1 system based on the belief that there is nothing more important to the community than protecting children.
Fairfax County 9-1-1 is the 68th of a potential 6,100 9-1-1 centers in the United States to achieve this recognition.
