Text9-1-1 Membership Organizations & National Standards
The two largest 9-1-1 membership organizations—the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and the National Emergency Number Association (NENA)—provide public safety answering points (PSAPs) with resources to advance leadership, professional development, emergency training, public education, legislative initiatives and information technology.
The Commission of Accredited Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) is the leading accreditation body for law enforcement agencies nationwide. CALEA partnered with APCO to develop an accreditation program for PSAPs to help them systematically review and assess their internal operations and emergency procedures.
