The Department of Public Safety Communications (DPSC) is located within the McConnell Public Safety and Transportation Operations Center (MPSTOC) at 4890 Alliance Drive in Fairfax. MPSTOC is a model of multi-agency coordination and cooperation. The center is a partnership between Fairfax County and the Commonwealth of Virginia that brings multiple agencies and functions together under one roof to enhance the effectiveness of public safety response, improve traffic congestion management and better manage the response to and recovery from major emergencies.
The agencies housed within MPSTOC include:
- Fairfax County Department of Public Safety Communications (DPSC)
- Fairfax County Office of Emergency Management (OEM)
- Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department (FRD)
- Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD)
- Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Northern Region Transportation Operations Center (TOC)
- Virginia Department of State Police (VSP)
DPSC officially began operations in MPSTOC by "cutting over" on October 4, 2009. Click the link below to view a virtual tour of the areas occupied by DPSC within MPSTOC
