Wren/Darne Family Cemetery

A wire fence surrounds the cemetery and a thick carpet of English ivy and periwinkle covered the area. Several large white pine trees shade the site. No gravemarkers were evident, but earlier surveys reported fieldstone markers.

As of September, 2012, the cemetery has a new owner. Restoration is underway; vegetation and debris have been removed, the wire fencing has been replaced by a new split-rail fence, and a stone wall will be constructed. In 1949, the cemetery was described as having field stones as grave markers. In 2012, there are a few stones lying in the ground, spaced as if they would mark graves. A large cedar "witness" tree had to be removed from the cemetery. This historic site will be preserved properly, and visitors are welcome.
