The cemetery is located in the woods about 40 yards northwest of the house. The will of JAMES MARTIN (1818) divided 200 acres "on Martin's Branch" between his sons NOAH and SAUL. The Martin family sold the land in 1848 (Db M3:282), and reserved a 1/4 acre burial ground from the sale. There is only one formal marker, that of MARY MARTIN (1774-1840), and evidence of at least 17 additional burials, some marked by fieldstones.
