An integral part of the Burke community for over
20 years, the Pohick Regional Library opened in
1987. It is one of the Fairfax County Public
Library’s busiest branches with an annual
circulation of nearly one million items. The
24,400 square foot facility houses approximately
175,000 volumes. The library grounds are
much admired and enjoyed by our visitors and are
maintained by a dedicated volunteer group of expert
gardeners.
Programs are offered for all ages including preschool,
children and young adult events. Three adult
book discussion groups meet monthly, including
one group that reads classic literature.
The Pohick Regional Library’s loyal volunteers
provide an amazing level of support for their branch
with over 10,000 hours of service annually. The
Friends
of the Pohick Regional Library enhance library service
to our community by generously donating their time
and funding for a wide array of items. The proceeds
of their ongoing and biannual book sales include
funding special programs, program support, volunteer
recognition and furnishings
