 The Friends of the Burke Centre Library was organized in June, 2002 after the site had been approved for a library and the county had purchased the property. The library opened for business on June 28, 2008. Our Friends group currently has in excess of 80 members.

| The Friends of the Burke Centre Library have been active and successful in raising funds in anticipation of this day. We have held book sales, accepted donations from other organizations, and collected dues from our members. The Friends also sponsored a statue as part of the Art in the Pages program conducted by the Library Foundation. The statue now stands in front of the new library.

| Meeting Dates: |
|
| Board meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of every month at the library. These are open meetings and all members are welcome to attend.
The annual meeting will be held April 22, 2009.

| Book Sales: |
|
There is an ongoing sale of paperback books and tapes.
The next major book sale will be in March 27 and 28, 2009.
