Ombudsman
is a Swedish term for a person who acts as an impartial third party in
resolving problems. Ombudsmen:

Advocate for improving the quality of life for persons receiving long-term care services.

Resolve complaints against long-term care providers through counseling, negotiation and investigation.

Provide information about long-term care providers to help make an informed decision.

Educate the community about long-term care issues.

Visit residents of long-term care facilities weekly through our volunteer program.

Train long-term care staff.

Consult with providers.
