To advise and cooperate with the court upon all matters affecting the working of the law and other laws relating to children, their care and protection and to domestic relations.

Seventeen (17) members - one from each of the nine districts appointed by his/her respective Supervisor and one at-large member appointed by the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors (10); two (2) Fairfax City; and not to exceed five (5) court appointed.
