| COMMUNITY POLICY AND MANAGEMENT TEAM, FAIRFAX-FALLS CHURCH | |||
| Purpose: | It is the purpose of the Community Policy and Management Team to implement the Comprehensive Services Act as specified in Sections 2.1-745 through 2.1-759 of the Code of Virginia. The mission of the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Policy and Management Team (CPMT) is to provide leadership in the development of new concepts and approaches in the provision of services to children, youth and families of Fairfax County and the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church. The primary focus of the CPMT is to lead the way to effective services to children already at risk of experiencing emotional/behavioral problems, especially those at risk or in need of out of home placements, and their families. | ||

| Membership: | No more than eighteen (18) members; nine (9) members have mandated status under the Code of Virginia, three (3) will have optional status, and six (6) shall have a limited term. The City Councils shall appoint their respective representatives. Other appointed public CPMT members shall serve at the pleasure of the local governing bodies. Mandated Members - Public Agencies: The following representatives of public agencies are mandated and serve as permanent members of the CPMT: - Dir. of Court Services for the Fairfax Co. J&DR Court - Dir. of the Dept. of Family Services - Dir. of the FFX-FC CSB - Dir. of the Dept. of Health - Dir. of Special Ed. Programs and Svcs. for the Fairfax Co. Public Schools - Representative of the Falls Church City Public Schools Local Jurisdictions - The Fairfax Co. BOS and the City Councils of the City of Falls Church and the City of Fairfax shall each appoint one member to the CPMT. Optional Members - The Fairfax Co. BOS may appoint three (3) persons having optional status on the CPMT: - Dir. of the Office for Children - Dir. of the Dept. of Comm. & Rec. Svcs - Dir. Student Svcs FCPS. Limited Term Members. The following positions shall be filled on a limited term basis by the Fairfax Co. BOS: - Two (2) mandated representatives of private service providers - Two (2) mandated parent representatives who are not employees of any public or private provider of services to youth - Two (2) locally mandated community representatives. All jurisdictions shall be afforded the opportunity to nominate persons for limited term appointments. The Chair of the CPMT shall forward the CPMT's recommended nominee for membership to the Fairfax Co. BOS or other appointing authority for approval. The Chair may appoint a Nominating Committee to assist in obtaining nominations for the limited term members. Two (2) new seats added on 6/2/08 are: Dir. of Dept. of Admin. for Human Svs. (DAHS) and Dir. Dept. of Systems Mgt. (DSM). 11/9/09 added 1 seat for FCPS. | ||
