COMMISSION ON ORGAN AND TISSUE DONATION AND TRANSPLANTATION

Purpose:			To coordinate resources in the community; to promote awareness of organ and tissue donation and transplantation; to educate the community about the organ and tissue donation process; and to increase the number of Fairfax County organ and tissue donors.

Terms:			4 years

Number of Seats:			21

Membership:			Twenty-one(21) members - one from each of the districts appointed by his/her respective Supervisor (9); one (1) at-large member; one (1) at-large member appointed by the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors; one (1) at-large minority community member; one (1)rep. recommended by the Washington Regional Transplant Consortium (WRTC); one (1) rep. recommended by the Old Dominion Eye Foundation (ODEF); one (1) health care professional appointed by the Board; one (1)member of the religious community appointed by theBoard; one (1) representative recommended by the American Heart Association, Greater Wash. Region Office; one(1) Donor Family Member, one (1) American Assoc. of Tissue Banks Member, one (1) City of Fairfax representative, and one (1) National Kidney Foundation of National Capital Area representative.

Meeting Info:			Usually 4th Monday of every month @ 7:30 p.m. in Conference Room 8, Fairfax County Govt. Center.
