FAIRFAX COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
OF REAL ESTATE ASSESSMENTS

NOTICE is hereby given that the Fairfax County Board of Equalization of Real Estate Assessments (BOE) shall hear appeals for 2008 real estate assessments at 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia at 7:00 p.m. on each Monday and Thursday beginning after August 7, 2008 and continuing through January 22, 2009, with the exception of August 28, September 1, October 13, November 10, November 27, December 22, December 25, December 29, 2008. However, if the BOE is able to complete all necessary action regarding such complaints prior to December 18, then the BOE will not continue to sit after the last date needed to complete such action. In addition, beginning after August 7, 2008 meetings will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., as necessary, in order to hear each appeal for 2008. The BOE shall sit and hear all appeals timely presented for consideration. Immediately after a hearing, the BOE shall equalize the taxpayer's assessment by increasing, decreasing or affirming such assessment.

All appeals relating to real estate properties must have been filed at the office of the BOE no later than 4:30 p.m.on June 2, 2008. Appeals delivered by U.S. Mail were accepted if postmarked by midnight of such date. Rules of Procedure of the BOE are available at the BOE office and on the WEB site www.fairfaxcounty.gov/boe.
