The recessed meeting was called to order at 4:10 p.m. with all Members being present, with the exception of Supervisor Bulova, Supervisor Connolly, Supervisor Hyland, Supervisor Kauffman, and Supervisor McConnell, and with Chairman Hanley presiding.

Supervisor Connolly, Supervisor Hyland, and Supervisor Kauffman arrived at 4:15 p.m.

Supervisor Bulova arrived at 4:20 p.m.

Supervisor McConnell arrived at 4:30 p.m.

Others present were William J. Leidinger, County Executive; David P. Bobzien, County Attorney; Catherine A. Chianese, Assistant to the County Executive; Barbara M. Jenkins, Assistant to the County Executive; Nancy Vehrs, Clerk to the Board of Supervisors, and Clarice Morris and Susan B. Erskine, Office of the Clerk to the Board of Supervisors.

A Certificate of Publication was filed from the Editor of the Fairfax Journal showing that notice of said public hearing had been duly advertised in that Newspaper on March 22, 1996 as described:

Request for Information on the Salary Scale for School Employees

Following the testimony of Mr. Burt Carnegie (Speaker 29), Fairfax County School Board Employee Association, Supervisor Dix asked unanimous consent that the Board direct staff to provide the Board with information regarding the unified pay scale in the school system. Without objection, it was so ordered.

PRESENCE OF BOY SCOUT TROOP 1145 (Tape 4)

Following the testimony of Ms. Jessica Burmester (Speaker 56), Acting-Chairman Bulova recognized the presence of Ms. Joanne Swick and Boy Scout Troop 1145 and welcomed them to the Board Auditorium.

PRESENCE OF GARY REESE, SULLY DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD REPRESENTATIVE (Tape 6)

Following the testimony of Ms. Sara Leonard (Speaker 79), Chairman Hanley recognized the presence of Gary Reese, Sully District School Board Representative, and welcomed him to the Board Auditorium.

The public hearing was held, with testimony being presented by 113 speakers, and scheduled for continuation on Thursday, April 11, 1996 at 4:00 p.m.
