Braddock District Council to Meet January 9th

The Braddock District Council will have their first meeting of 2013 on January 9, from 7:30 until 9:00 p.m. in Braddock Hall, adjacent to the Supervisor’s office, 9002 Burke Lake Road, Burke, VA 22015. 

While many communities within the Braddock District have official representatives to the BDC, anyone interested in the activities of the BDC are welcome to attend. The BDC meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month and addresses issues of interest to communities and residents of the Braddock District and beyond.  Make attending a BDC meeting one of your New Year’s resolutions for 2013!

Mason Community Forum to Meet January 30th

The next meeting of the University Community Forum will take place January 30 in the Community Meeting Room of the Kings Park Library.  The library is located at 9000 Burke Lake Road, Burke, VA 22015.  The University Community Forum is an open forum that meets quarterly to share information and concerns on issues of common interest to Braddock District and other parts of Fairfax County adjacent to the city of Fairfax, and George Mason University.  All are welcome to attend.

Save the Date: Final Stormwater Ordinance Meeting Scheduled

Monday, January 28 is the final stakeholders meeting, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center.

Fairfax County is preparing a Stormwater Management Ordinance in response to state regulations that require localities to adopt ordinances and take over reviews and inspections from construction sites effective July 1, 2014. A series of meetings with stakeholders is being held to gather information that will be used to develop the ordinance, along with design and construction standards for stormwater control practices. Presentation on Fairfax County and Senior Navigator Websites

Braddock District Council’s Aging in Place Committee will provide a public presentation on “How to Effectively Use the Recently Updated Fairfax County Older Adult Services and Senior Navigator Web Sites” on Wednesday, January 16th at 7:30 PM in the Kings Park Library Meeting Room.  Please enter through the Braddock Supervisor’s Office Door.  The meeting is open to all.
