Community Engagement Initiative Continues with Second Leadership Institute
The Braddock District Community Engagement Initiative (“CEI”) continues
with a half-day “Leadership Institute,” scheduled for Saturday, February
26, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Kings Park Library in Burke. The
“Leadership Institute” is back by popular demand. Last year, the program
drew more than 60 community leaders who learned the “ins and outs” of HOA
management, fiduciary responsibility and organizational building.
This year’s Leadership Institute will draw on that programming and add
some new sessions. Developed by my office and County staff, the Institute
is targeted for those who are, or wish to be, officers and directors of
civic and homeowners’ associations and community-based volunteer and
non-profit organizations.
Those who attend the workshop will learn about emergency planning,
public safety, environmental stewardship, fiduciary roles and
responsibilities and how to identify and leverage the assets in your
community. The tentative agenda is below. Spots are limited, so I
encourage those who aspire to effective community and organizational
leadership to contact Ann Sharp at 703-425-9300 to sign up today.
