You are familiar with the problem. A bank or financial
institution takes over a property through foreclosure, or maybe the
occupant abandons the property. In any event, the bank is now the
owner. But, it doesn’t want to spend its money maintaining the
property.
Braddock District Office Open House - Sunday, June
14th
On Sunday June 14th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., I will host my
first Open House at the Braddock District office.

I wanted to make you aware of an initiative I proposed to the Board of
Supervisors that seeks to help our police officers, firefighters and EMS
personnel and teachers buy homes in Fairfax County.

Illegal Boarding Houses on Braddock Neighborhood News
Braddock Neighborhood News is a TV program on the county
government’s Channel 16 which I will be using to provide you with
information on issues facing our community, programs and services
provided by the county, great things being done by our neighbors and what
I am doing to respond to your concerns.
First Constituent Day a Rousing Success
Last Wednesday I had the opportunity to host the first, of what I hope
are many, “Constituent Days” throughout Braddock District. Our first
Constituent Day took place at Oak View Elementary and it was great to see
so many citizens come out and share their thoughts.
Braddock Nights Turns 15
June 5th marks the start of the fifteenth season of music in the
parks. Running through August 30th, Braddock Nights takes place every
Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at both Royal Lake and Lake Accotink, and at
6:00 p.m. on Sundays at Ossian Hall Park, where you will be able to enjoy
FREE live music.

Land Use Round-Up: Ongoing and Forthcoming Cases
There are a number of land use cases in the Braddock District which have
either recently been filed or are now scheduled for public hearings
before the Board of Supervisors. I want to be sure you are aware of these
cases and expect to hold community involvement meetings on several of
them.
