Welcome Back to School, From Tessie Wilson, Braddock School Board

September 2011 - It’s always a scramble for all of our schools to be
ready for the first day, but this year it seems we faced some additional
challenges. I am pleased to report that all schools are ready and our
staff is eager to welcome back our returning students as well as new
students to the buildings.

Supervisor Cook Announces Fairfax County Will Acquire Closed Kings
West Swim Club For Storm-Water Management and Park Use
June 2011 - As many of you may know, the Kings West Swim Club
located off of Tapestry Drive has been closed for about five years,
having suffered from declining membership. The abandoned pool has been a
safety concern as well as an aesthetic blight on the community, but is
ideal for storm water management and a neighborhood park.
Remember, Parents Who Host, Lose the Most
June 2011 - June is traditionally a time of great celebration
for high school seniors, as well as their families and friends making it
essential for teens and their parents alike to keep in mind the
importance of having fun and celebrating their achievements in a safe and
responsible way. In light of this, Supervisor Cook would like to
reiterate his support of the “Parents Who Host Lose the Most: Don’t be a
party to teenage drinking” message.
