Channel 16 Receives Multiple Awards Including Overall Excellence

Fairfax County Government Channel 16 has won the Overall Excellence in Government Programming Award from the Alliance for Community Media for the 9th year in a row and 14th time overall. Fairfax County Government submitted a 20-minute video with excerpts from 17 different Channel 16 programs produced in 2015. This is the 14th time Channel 16 has won this award.
The award was presented at the Alliance for Community Media annual conference on August 19 in Boston, Massachusetts. Donna Monacci, Director of the Communications Productions Division, appreciates "being recognized year after year for the dedication of the Channel 16 staff to produce excellent programming that engages the community with their local government."
Channel 16 was also recognized with seven awards by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) for the following television programs:

The awards were presented at the NATOA annual conference, Sept. 22, in Austin, Texas. The competition received 857 entries, making it the most competitive year to date. Michael Liberman, Director of the Department of Cable and Consumer Services credits, "the Communications Productions Division staff, in cooperation with all the county public information officers and their respective departments, for providing county residents valuable information about county services and news through television programs."
