From Lorton to Laurel Hill

From Lorton to Laurel Hill details the county’s plan to redevelop the site of the former Lorton Prison complex in the Mount Vernon District. Congressional action returned this land to the county in 2002, and a citizens committee developed plans for future use of the site that emphasize open space, parks and recreation, and cultural and educational uses. Studio guests on this program are Tim Sargeant, Chairman of the Laurel Hill Citizens Policy Oversight Committee, Lynn Tadlock, Director of Park Planning and Development, Fairfax County Park Authority, and Tina Leone, Executive Director of the Lorton Arts Foundation. From Lorton to Laurel Hill also includes interviews with Board of Supervisors Chairman Gerry Connolly and Mount Vernon District Supervisor Gerry Hyland. (CC)
