The Fairfax County Commission for Women advises the Board of Supervisors on ways to promote the full equality of women and girls in Fairfax County. Established in 1971, the Commission has been an active voice for women in areas such as domestic violence, educational equality, and progress in the workplace. The Commission is part of a national network of some 300 state and local Commissions for Women. For more information on the Commission for Women, view the Commission for Women Fact Sheet or the FY 2011 - FY 2012 Biennial Report. The Commission for Women is affiliated with the Fairfax County Office for Women & Domestic and Sexual Violence Services (OFW&DSVS). OFW&DSVS employs a liaison to coordinate Commission activities and fulfill the project obligations of the Commission. |
