TextFinal Estimates Lower Dulles Rail Cost
March 7, 2011 - The figures released by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) yesterday are $1 billion lower than previous estimates and are consistent with what we have been working with during the past year. Fairfax County is providing a number of venues for the public to learn about Phase II and to weigh in, including a public hearing on March 20th before the Board of Supervisors. I am hopeful that we will be able to move forward quickly with a positive decision. Rail to Dulles remains our highest transportation priority and we will continue to make sure the project can be completed in a way that is affordable to our residents, commuters and corporate neighbors.
