Fairfax County Department of Transportation - Statement

April 7, 2017

**Fairfax County Department of Transportation officials release the following statement on the ongoing negotiations between MV Transportation, the county’s contractor for operations of the Fairfax Connector bus system, and the Amalgamated Transit Union which represents Fairfax Connector drivers and maintenance personnel. **

Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) leadership has been informed that MV Transportation (MV), the county’s contractor for operations of the Fairfax Connector bus system, and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) have reached a tentative agreement that will be taken for ratification (vote) by the union members tomorrow, Saturday, April 8, 2017. If the tentative agreement is not ratified and labor action is taken by the members of the union, FCDOT and MV will activate a contingency plan and will communicate any service changes to Fairfax Connector patrons as soon as possible. Information on any service changes will be available:

Fairfax County is not party to the contract negotiations between MV and ATU, and continues to encourage both parties to negotiate in good faith.
