If you are interested in conducting business in Fairfax County, you must first obtain a license. Licenses and registrations issued by the Regulation and Licensing Branch are listed below. For more information contact Licensing or call 703-324-5966, TTY 711.

  • Applicants may be required to:
  • be fingerprinted
  • be photographed
  • provide a driving record
  • provide personal information under oath
  • The Regulation and Licensing Branch issues licenses for:
  • peddlers
  • solicitors
  • promoters
  • canvassers
  • pawnbrokers
  • precious metals and gems dealers
  • massage establishments and therapists
  • going out of business
  • taxicab drivers
  • The Branch also:
  • issues registrations for towing companies engaged in trespass towing
  • regulates the operation of taxicabs within Fairfax County
  • issues operator certificates for taxicabs
  • provides staff support to the Trespass Towing Advisory Board
