These Annual Statistical Reports review the
activity of the Court and the work of its state and county employees.
With changes in the demographic characteristics of Fairfax County
and its increasing urbanization, changing family structures,
and the impact of a number of other local, regional, and national
trends, the Court and its staff finds itself dealing with increasingly
complex and difficult case problems. The Court and its services
continue to grow and change as staff face the future. Its effectiveness
is in great measure a credit to the quality of the dedicated
judges, clerks, and service staff who must balance the need
to protect the community with the need to provide for the protection
and well-being of the youths and families who come within its
jurisdiction.
