Groundbreaking for New Behavioral Health Treatment Center Set for March 25
The groundbreaking ceremony for the "New Horizons Treatment Center" will take place at 11 a.m. on March 25, 2009 at 8247 Gregory Drive in Alexandria, Virginia.
The ceremony, co-sponsored by the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board and the New Horizons Neighborhood Advisory Board, will feature remarks by Fairfax County Lee District Supervisor Jeff C. McKay, Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board representatives, Fairfax County officials and the New Horizons Neighborhood Advisory Board.
The "New Horizons Treatment Center," a program of the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board, will provide treatment to men and women with mental health and substance use disorders in a new state-of-the-art facility,
In 2004, county voters approved a bond referendum to fund the new facility. The new center will consolidate program costs by combining two existing programs. The construction is due to be completed in May 2010 and the center will be operational in June 2010.
Due to limited parking at the site, it is recommended that guests park at the South County Center, 8350 Richmond Highway, Alexandria. The 8247 Gregory Drive location for the ceremony is one block north of the County Center, at the intersection of Gregory Drive and Richmond Highway.
In case of inclement weather, the comments portion of the ceremony will be held in Community Room 221 of the South County Center, 8350 Richmond Highway, Alexandria.
