Northern Virginia Regional Projects Office - Clinical Respose Team


The Clinical Response Team (CRT) is a group of multidisciplinary professionals with expertise in dual diagnosis (intellectual disability and mental illness) who respond in the community within 48 hours to:

  • Support individuals with mental illness and intellectual disabilities who are in crisis and are at risk for hospitalization;
  • Work collaboratively with existing health care providers to help stabilize individuals with mental illness and intellectual disabilities and avert hospitalization; and
  • Work collaboratively with facility staff to facilitate community reintegration after admission to a crisis stabilization unit or hospital.
