Program DescriptionThe Family Intervention Resource and Engagement team includes Children, Youth and Families Division social workers who can provide six to eight weeks of intervention to families. The team assesses a family’s strengths and provides services to promote a healthy family life. The team believes supporting and empowering parents help families develop and maintain self sufficiency. Eligible FamiliesOnly families participating in a Department of Family Services; Children, Youth and Families Division program are eligible for services from the FIRE Program. Who May Benefit from This ProgramFamilies identified by Children, Youth and Families Division social workers as high or very high risk. Families with one or more primary caretakers who are willing and able to participate in the program and recognize there is a need for short-term, intensive, in-home crisis intervention. Families at risk of having a child removed from the home in the next three to five days. Value StatementsThe team is committed to providing solution-focused, culturally sensitive and strength-based services to families. The team is committed to supporting families in their environment using practical approaches. Families take the lead in developing and setting their own goals with input from referring workers and team staff. Program Goals
