Mission of Mercy Dental Project Needs Volunteers

The Department of Family Services and Northern Virginia Dental Society are looking for volunteers from all walks of life to help at "Mission of Mercy 2014,"

  • When: March 14 and 15
  • Where: Northern Virginia Community College's Medical Education Center (MEC) in Springfield.

Free dental services will be provided to 800 low-income Northern Virginia adult residents by appointment only.

Especially needed are nurses, pharmacists and people who are bilingual in languages other than English, especially Spanish.

Volunteers can work 6:30 a.m. to noon or 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on either day.

To volunteer, contact Joann Knox and indicate the day and time you would like to volunteer. Also indicate whether you have special skills or fluency in a second language.

Patient referrals are not being accepted. Patients have been screened for eligibility by area social service agencies, private nonprofit community-based agencies or free clinics.
