DFS Lobby in the Pennino Building in Fairfax Closed

The Department of Family Services lobby on the second floor in the Pennino Building at 12011 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax is closed

Services for the SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid programs, as well as financial, energy and child care assistance, are available from the Pennino office. Be advised that since this area is a temporary lobby during the construction on the second floor, it is much smaller than before and the wait time for services is much longer.

The good news: you do not need to come to the Pennino office to receive services. You can do everything online using CommonHelp, the new website for public assistance benefits.

Through CommonHelp you can:

Apply for SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, Child Care, or Energy Assistance
Check the status of your case
Renew your case
