County Profile (1973-1991)

The Fairfax County Profile was published from 1973 to 1991. These documents contain summarized information about Fairfax County, including population characteristics, vital statistics data, educational attainment data, employment data, income data, residential and nonresidential characteristics, housing data, transportation data, county revenues and expenditures data, public safety data, and managment indicator data.

Fairfax County Economic Indicators reports on the County's current economic climate, as well as selected economic indicators on the state and national levels. Its frequency and timeliness ensures that County staff and officials, business leaders, and citizens will be made aware of cyclical changes in the local, state, and national economies.

Financial Transparency

The Fairfax County Financial Transparency  portal consolidates links to budget, finance, audit, procurement and human resource information enabling a clear view of the government's operations and how tax dollars are spent. In addition, it provides an interactive transparency application to browse budget and expenditure data, as well as certain vendor payments for the current fiscal year-to-date (YTD) that begins July 1.

The Department of Tax Administration is charged by law with the responsibility to assess and collect taxes for Fairfax County. The main taxes are personal property, real estate and business licensing.
