Fairfax County is required to enforce the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and the Statewide Fire Prevention Code. Both codes reference the 2006 International Codes* as administered by the International Code Council. The administrative provisions will be included as Chapter 1 of a Virginia version of the codes listed below and can be purchased through the ICC. The administrative provisions are also available as a stand alone document (see below).
The Uniform Statewide Building Code is divided into three parts: Part I, The Virginia Construction Code; Part II, The Virginia Rehabilitation Code; and Part III, The Virginia Maintenance Code.
