Decking and Rail

For decking and/or rail composed of structural plastics or foreign lumber to be approved for use in Fairfax County, they must be listed by a nationally recognized independent testing laboratory certified by International Accreditation Service (IAS) to conduct tests related to the Internatonal Code Council-Evaluation Service Acceptance Criteria AC-174.

The products approved for use in Fairfax County are listed by the following:

Only those products with reports which reference the 2000, 2003 or 2006 International Residential Code or International Building Code will be accepted by Fairfax County. Reports referencing legacy codes are no longer accepted.
