Exception Review Committee Meetings
The Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act Exception Review Committee holds monthly meetings open to the public at 2 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month at the Government Center to conduct routine business and hold public hearings on ripe applications seeking authorization to conduct activities in Resource Protection Areas. The committee is comprised of an appointee from each of the nine magisterial districts and two at-large members. The hearings are mandated by state code and county ordinance, and conducted pursuant to standards and criteria established by those laws to determine whether land disturbing activities in the RPA should be allowed, and if so, under what conditions. Public input is very much encouraged. Neighboring property owners to proposed projects receive actual notice of the hearing date and proposal from the applicant at least 15 days prior to the hearing.
