Emerald Ash Borer Trapping in Fairfax County
|
|
Fairfax County staff first identified several sites infested with emerald ash borer (EAB) in 2008. It is very difficult to find trees that are infested with EAB; they can go undetected for several years.
Fairfax County worked cooperatively with Virginia Department of
Agriculture and Consumer Services to implement an EAB survey. EAB
traps were placed throughout Fairfax County. The traps were
periodically checked to identify any additional areas of
infestation.
