Capital Facilities (CAP)
The Capital Facilities business area supports the design and construction of libraries, courts, police and fire stations, governmental facilities, and infrastructure improvements projects for roads and sanitary sewer extensions. Through completion of these projects, Capital Facilities contributes to the health, safety, and welfare of all who reside, work and visit Fairfax County.

Land Developement Services (LDS)
The Land Development Services business area is responsible for ensuring that all development in Fairfax County meets the safety and health standards of all applicable codes, such as the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC), Public Facilities Manual (PFM) and other county ordinances.
