Conservation Awards for 2005
Nominations are being solicited from any individual, firm, or an organization who has observed outstanding efforts of a developer, designer, site superintendent, contractor or a property owner. Staffs of the Construction Management, Urban Forest Management, Environmental and Site Review, and Environmental and Facilities Inspections Divisions of the Department of Public Works and Environmental Services are encouraged to submit nominations. In addition, any firm or individual may nominate themselves. The forms are attached. The forms are also available for pick up at the Plan and Document Control intake counter in the Herrity Building, 12055 Government Center Parkway. Nomination should cite points of excellence that form the basis for the recommendation. You may attach additional documents or photographs. Completed nomination forms must be submitted to the Director, Land Development Services by October 10, 2005. Judging will be conducted by the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District. Photographs of sites and notes taken by the judges during this period will be saved and evaluated with the sites that were judged during the spring. Projects judged in the spring will not be subjected to another field evaluation. Winners will be selected in each category.
