Electronic Signature Requirements for
Plans Submitted to Building Plan Review
To facilitate the use of electronic siguatures for plans submitted to Building Plan Review during the permit applications process, Land Development Services has developed the attached policy.
To learn more about electronic signatures and the state requirements, go to the online Resource Guide from the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation's Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Archtitects.
Electronic signature software is required when submitting plans with an electronic signature to Fairfax County. Some software vendors include Adobe, CIC, DocuSign, eOriginal, Silanis and many others. To learn more, contact the software vendor or the Electronic Signature and Records Association in Alexandria at www.esignrecords.org.
"Wet" signatures are still acceptable.
