Notify Tenants About Recycling

Property owners or managers are required to educate their tenants about the onsite recycling system.   Notices must be provided upon intial occupancy and at least once a year thereafter.  

Contents of Notices

Educational materials distributed to tenants must include the following information:

  • participation is mandatory
  • a list of materials to be recycled
  • the program start date
  • instructions on how to prepare materials
  • contaminants to avoid
  • location of recycling containers
  • a collection schedule
  • contact information if they have questions

Flyers are available for property owners and managers to use in educating their tenants. Versions are available in English and Spanish and include: Residential Cardboard and Mixed Paper ONLY (B&W or color) and Residential Cardboard and Mixed Paper PLUS additional materials (B&W or color).
