Tires from Residences
Only tires from passenger vehicles/light trucks are accepted.
- Take them to the I-66 or I-95 Citizens' Recycling and Disposal Facilities. Please note that there is a fee to offset special processing costs of shredding tires. Tires are accepted both with and without rims.
- To have tires picked up at the curb, contact your solid waste collector. If you live in a Sanitary District, then the county collects your trash and recyclables. The county will pick up a maximum of 4 tires per set out. They may not be on rims.
Tires from Businesses
All types and sizes of tires are accepted.
Take them to the I-95 Landfill Complex. Commercial customers may not take tires to the county’s I-66 Transfer Station Complex. For more information, see the commercial fee schedule.
What happens to the tires? Tires taken to county facilities are shred and reused in various civil engineering projects.
