Fall Cankerworm Report Form

Urban foresters in the Forest Pest Management Branch have noticed a significant increase in the number of fall cankerworms (Alsophilia pometaria) in Fairfax County. The fall cankerworm is a native insect that destroys trees throughout North America. Urban foresters conduct annual surveys for this pest to determine its population levels.

Please complete the form and report any fall cankerworm activity on your property. Your participation is appreciated and will help the county's Forest Pest Management Branch determine areas where future surveys may take place.
