Holiday Collection Schedule for Sanitary Districts

Regular trash, recycling, brush and bulk collection services are provided on all holidays EXCEPT Christmas Day.  The Customer Service Center (703-802-3322, TTY 711) is closed on county holidays.  In 2008, Christmas Day falls on Thursday, December 25. All Thursday customers will receive collection on Friday, December 26, 2008.  This collection schedule will only apply to residents of established sanitary districts who receive trash and recycling collection services from the Fairfax County Division of Solid Waste Collection and Recycling. Residents with private collection services should contact their service providers to obtain any schedule changes over the holiday season.

The Fairfax County Division of Solid Waste Collection and Recycling supplies trash and recycling collection service to approximately 44,000 homes within established sanitary districts across Fairfax County. Property owners receiving county collection services pay for this service in addition to their annual property tax. They are billed annually as part of their property tax assessment.
