Special collections are made for those items which are too heavy or bulky for regular collection crews to handle. This service is only available to the 44,000 households that receive trash collection service from Fairfax County's Division of Solid Waste Collection and Recycling. Special collections include brush (e.g., tree branches) and bulk loads (e.g., appliances, couches, mattresses). Lumber, a processed wood product, is not considered brush. It requires a bulk collection. Please do not mix bulk loads and brush. They will be collected separately.
