Acceptable/Unacceptable Waste

I-66 Transfer StationThe Fairfax County Citizens' Recycling and Disposal Facilities located in Fairfax and Lorton accept a wide variety of solid waste materials for disposal. Generally, all nonhazardous waste can be disposed of at these two facilities. This includes household trash, scrap wood, metal, brush, ceiling tiles, and appliances such as stoves, washers and dryers. There is also a Household Hazardous Waste disposal program operated at each facility during designated hours.
