Wastewater
Management deploys state-of-the-art information technology and automation
systems in managing the wastewater system. The Supervisory Control and
Data Acquisition (SCADA) system provides process visualization, data
acquisition, alarm management, and supervisory control over the
wastewater pumping and treatment processes. The computerized asset
management system provides Wastewater Management, the ability to manage,
maintain, and track the collection, pumping, and treatment assets,
leveraging the data for proactive business decisions. The laboratory and
pretreatment system enables Wastewater Management to manage the
pretreatment program and the analysis of complex organic pollutants,
improving efficiency in the laboratory. The Automated Ticket Management
System (ATMS) for Miss Utility provides Wastewater Management with the
ability (as a member utility) to manage Miss Utility tickets and sketches
from one Call Center; and the Public Works Sewer Application Tracking
system enables Wastewater Management to electronically record and track
applications submitted for usage of the Fairfax County sanitary sewer
system.
