The total system can collect and clean up to 161 millions of gallons of wastewater per day for about 340,000 residential and business connections in Fairfax County. 

Fairfax County’s wastewater collection and conveyance system, one of the nation’s largest sanitary sewer systems, is located in an approved sewer service area that covers nearly 234 square miles.
