BRAC APR 2008

Of the 38 nominations submitted for inclusion in the BRAC APR process, seven were recommended for approval by the Planning Commission on December 10, 2008, and were adopted by the Board of Supervisors on January 26, 2009. One nomination (08-IV-7MV) was denied by the Planning Commission on December 10, 2008. An additional thirteen nominations were withdrawn. One nomination (08-IV-6FS) was deferred by the Planning Commission during the screening process to be considered at a later date. Two nominations (08-IV-1S and 08-IV-3S) were deferred into a study of the Loisdale Road Corridor, which was authorized by the Board on January 12, 2009. The remaining 14 nominations have undergone further review of their transportation impacts as required by Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) under Chapter 527 of the 2006 Acts of Assembly and §15.2-2222.1 of the Code of Virginia. Public hearings before the Planning Commission were held on June 17 and June 24 for the remaining nominations. Three nominations in the Springfield Community Business Center were deferred to be considered as a special study. On July 15, the Planning Commission voted to defer one nomination (08-IV-4MV), denied four nominations (08-IV-1MV, 08-IV-4S, 08-IV-5S, and 08-IV-8S), and recommended approval of six nominations. The six nominations recommended for approval were adopted by the Board of Supervisors following public hearings on August 3, 2009. Adopted text for those items will be posted shortly.
