Exceptional Design Awards - Submission Requirements

• The preferred method of material submission is a PDF document attached to an e-mail to Fairfax County Exceptional Design Awards .
• If this is not possible, hard copy materials may be submitted in an 8 ½" X 11" binder.  
• Entries may be made in all applicable catagories.  
• One submission is required for each entry.   

Each entry shall include the following:

A.  The entry form.

B.  Submission of the following materials describing the project:

1. A table of contents.
   
   
2. An explanation of the project's program implementation and any additional information considered significant.  Please be brief.
   
   
3. Graphic materials necessary to give a complete understanding of the full project (such as those listed below).  
    
   • Photographs of the exterior and/or interior, in black and white or color.
   • Site plans showing the project's landscape and its relationship with its environs.
   • Building plans, elevations, and sections as appropriate.
   • A location map which specifies the exact location of the project.

Upon request of the entrant, the hard copies of non-winning entries will be returned and must be picked up by December 31.  While every reasonable precaution will be taken in handling entries, Fairfax County shall not be held responsible for damage to or loss of submission materials.  All winning entries will be retained by the Department of Planning and Zoning for publicity and publication purposes.  All entries must reach the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning by 5:00 p.m., June 24.
