Inventory of Historic Sites for Fairfax City

Folders containing information on listed properties are filed in the Planning Division/DPZ file room. These files may be used by staff and by the public. Files include summary data forms as well as photographs and other material as available. Properties may be added to the Inventory from time to time by the Fairfax County History Commission. DPZ also maintains an extensive Historic Structures file containing information on other historic sites in Fairfax County that are not listed on the Inventory.

Status Codes

D = demolished
NRHP = property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places
VLR = the property is on the Virginia Landmarks Register
* = Properties with an asterisk have been added to the Inventory of Historic Sites by the History Commission, but are not yet included on tables in the Comprehensive Plan. Currently, the Comprehensive Plan shows the Inventory as of 1994.
Note: NRHP sites are all on the VLR
