In-person Comment Session
A in-person comment session for the Baileys Crossroads Planning Study was held on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mason District Governmental Center, 6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA. The in-person comment session provided an opportunity for people who could not attend the Public Open House to provide in-person comments to staff.

Stakeholder Workshop
A Stakeholder Workshop for the Baileys Crossroads Planning Study was held on Thursday, Feb. 5, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Mason District Governmental Center, 6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale.

Stakeholder Interviews
The consultant team conducted interviews in May 2008 with a diverse group of identified stakeholders associated with the study area. The stakeholders brought up different issues and concerns, but common themes emerged.
The prominent issues identified by the stakeholders included the following:

The area needs more pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use development which
also includes an expansion of different housing and retail types and
existing amenities, especially human services;

Streetscape improvements and improved infrastructure, such as traffic
circulation, parking and open spaces, are critical;

Baileys Crossroads has a unique character that should be preserved and
enhanced.
