Reston Land Use College
What was the Reston Land Use College?
A series of four classes hosted by staff from the
Department of Planning and Zoning during the Fall of 2009.
The classes were designed to acquaint Reston area residents,
landowners, employers, employees and other interested individuals with
key elements of the land use planning and development review processes
for the planned community of Reston and adjacent areas along the Dulles
Corridor. Some of the topics included:
- Legal Authority for Planning & Zoning
- Land Use Planning
- Transportation Planning
- Parks Planning
- Faciliies Planning
- Zoning Ordindance
- Comprehensive Plan
Development Process in Reston
These classes formed the foundation for public participation in the
upcoming study to review and update the Fairfax County Comprehensive
Plan for the Reston area.
